۱– منطقه اصلی حرکتی این منطقه در جلوی شیار مرکزی است و وظیفه کنترل حرکتهای اختیاری بدن را بر عهده دارد. حرکات سمت راست بدن را بخش حرکتی نیمکره چپ و حرکات سمت چپ بدن را بخش حرکتی نیمکره راست کنترل می کند.

۲– منطقه اصلی حسی ـ تنی: در قطعه ی آهیانه ای است که بین شیار مرکزی و منطقه ی حرکتی قرار دارد گرما ،سرما ،لمس، درد و حس حرکت بدن همگی در این ناحیه منعکس می شوند.

 

۳– منطقه اصلی بینایی: پشت قطعه پس سری قرار دارد که رشته های عصب بینایی و مسیرهای عصبی را که از هر چشم به قشر بینایی میرسند، اول در محلی به نام چلیپای بینایی قطع کرده و از یک چشم میدان دیدگاهی چپ به نیمکره راست و میدان دیدگاهی راست به نیمکره چپ میرود. یعنی میدان دیدگاهی چپ چشم راست و میدان دیدگاهی راست چشم چپ به منطقه بینایی نیمکره راست میرود.

۴– منطقه اصلی شنوایی: این منطقه در سطح قطعه گیجگاهی و کناره هر نیمکره قرار دارد و به تحلیل علائم پیچیده ی شنیداری می پردازد. این منطقه به ویژه با شکل گیری زمانی صوت مثلاً در گفتار آدمی سر و کار دارد هر دو گوش در هر دو سوی قشر مخ مناطق شنوایی دارند اما ارتباط هر یک با منطقه مقابلش نیرومندتر است مثلاً گوش راست به هر دو منطقه شنوایی راست و چپ اطلاعات میفرستد اما به منطقه شنوایی سمت چپ مغز اطلاعات بیشتری میفرستد.

۵– منطقه تداعی: بخش بزرگی از قشر مخ که به طور مستقیم درگیر فرایندهای حسی و حرکتی نیست منطقه تداعی نام دارد منطقه تداعی پیشانی نقش

پراهمیتی در فرایندهای فکری لازم برای حل مسئله دارد.

۶– مناطق ارتباطی خلفی: در جوار مناطق اصلی حسی قرار دارند و به نظر میرسد شامل ناحیههای کوچکتری باشند که هر یک به حس معینی اختصاص دارد مثلاً بخش زیرین قطعه گیجگاهی در ادراک دیداری نقش دارد که آسیب آن باعث ایجاد کاستیهایی در بازشناسی و تمییز شکلها میشود.

نکته هر اندازه بخش معینی از بدن حساس تر و پر کاربردتر باشد بخش بزرگتری از منطقه ی حسی – تنی و حرکتی به آن اختصاص دارد.
